Quick answer
F11 covers a board communication error, a shorted keyboard, a stuck key or a glass touch panel fault, depending on the range.
Model compatibility
Kenmore reuses codes across series and model years, so F11 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What thiscode means
F11 is a control board communication error on Elite 721 ranges, a shorted keyboard or stuck key on 790-prefix and slide-in ranges, or a defective glass touch panel.
On a Kenmore range, F11 is tied to the control and keypad side of the oven, but each series reads it differently.
Elite 721-prefix electric range
F11 here is a communication error between the oven control board and the cooktop control board. The manual starts by unplugging the range and checking the wire harness connection between the two boards. Reconnect loose wires and repair broken ones. If the connections are fine, the oven control board is reset: press Lower Stop, hold Lower Bake and Lower Broil for 3 seconds, press Lower Stop, then hold Lower Bake and Lower Broil for 3 seconds again. A code that returns leads to a replacement oven control board, followed by the same reset, and then the cooktop control board if it returns again.
790-prefix self-cleaning electric ranges and 2014 models
The oven control’s keyboard is shorted. Disconnect power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If F11 comes back, the electronic oven control board is replaced, because the keypad is part of that board.
Elite slide-in ranges and glass touch ranges
The Elite 790.4671 slide-in electric and the Elite slide-in gas or dual-fuel ranges (790.3263, 790.3264, 790.4260, 790.4261, 790.4275, 790.4276) report a stuck key on the touch control panel. Make sure nothing presses against the keypad and press Stop to clear the display. If it stays, disconnect power and check the harness connections between the touch panel and the oven control board. Glass touch electric ranges list F11 as a defective glass touch panel.
Related Kenmore range codes
F14 is a communication fault between the oven control board and touch panel.
F12 is a microprocessor identification fault on the oven control board.
