On Kenmore Elite electric slide-in ranges (790.4131, 790.4255, 790.5256), the relay control board cannot detect the oven door switch or oven door lock switch.

What the manual lists

  1. Disconnect power from the range.
  2. Check the wire harness connections between the door lock switches and the relay control board. On the Elite, check the door lock and the door switch harnesses separately. Reconnect loose wires and replace a damaged harness.
  3. A technician tests the switches with a multimeter. If the door lock switch does not work, the door lock assembly is replaced; on the Elite, a door switch that fails is replaced as well.
  4. If wires and switches are all fine, the relay control board is replaced.
